Passion – the phrase “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life” is true. However you need to really dig deep within yourself before making the plunge and ask yourself “do I truly love doing this” On average we spend 30 % of our lives at work that is a lot of time wasted if you are not passionate about what you do.
Research – Research – Research – it is tempting to get the ball rolling fast, , however you need to have an accurate and clear defined business plan to start. Although many business plans can move in different directions, as you move along you need to know how you are going to adapt and overcome the many obstacles that lie ahead. You need to know your competition, cost, and most importantly if the need for your product or service.
Attitude– You need to have a positive attitude towards every aspect in your business. Of course there are jobs and tasks that are more fun or exciting than others, but you need to keep the positive energy and momentum during all facets of your business.
Innovate and Market – The hardest part of starting a business is to take the leap of faith, but once you do that you find out that you are capable of much more than you thought. Keep innovating and implementing better ways to do business. Always ask yourself “what makes me different”
Learn and read – One thing that all successful people have in common is that they are constantly learning and constantly reading on how to better themselves and their business. It can be difficult to implement such changes but if you keep reading and learning it might end up saving you from a big mistake or encourage you to take your business to the next level. Never take your foot off the gas pedal is essential, but it is important to slow down and learn along the way.
