Hired and non-owned coverage is a very important piece of your commercial insurance policy. This endorsement protects your business when your employees use their car while doing business related activities. Many business owners are under the impression that their own employees personal auto insurance is covering their car when they are using it but that is incorrect.

When an employee takes their personal vehicle out, for example, to drop off mail at the post office or driving out to a sales meeting and they get into an accident the company could be found liable for those losses.
